Riaan & Christelle {married!}

When I drove onto Moffet road from the 3rd avenue dip, it was as if I was driving into another world.  The clouds were suddenly dark and heavy with rain.  I felt my heart sink.  Just a 3 hours ago, I was excited about the beautiful weather and suddenly it was gone.  But.... I was determined to make the best of the day anyway.  Besides, I have been looking forward to Riaan and Christelle's wedding way too much to let weather dampen my mood.  'Good thing I brought my pretty umbrellas', I softly said to myself and made my way to the Hacklewood Hill Country House, not the least bit less excited than I was when I was thinking about what an amazing wedding this was sure to be.

When I arrived at the venue, Christelle was still out doing her hair, and her sister, Leze assisted me with everything I needed to know in order to start with photographing the details.  Just then, Christelle walked in, calmer than I've ever witnessed any bride!  She arranged with the staff at the venue to set up indoors and began with her make up.  Not one bit of stress marked her face or broke through her voice.  Thereafter, she calmly proceeded to the room where she was to get dressed  and have her bridal portraits taken.  When I commented on her degree of calmness, she confidently said, "when you know you're marrying the right man, there's nothing to stress about".  And indeed, she is right.

Moments after Christelle arrived, the sun came out behind the clouds and took it's rightful place.  And it stayed there :) My prayers were answered. And I was right, Riaan and Christelle's wedding was BEAUTIFUL.  They had a beautiful intimate setting with only close friends and family {about 20 guests} at the Hacklewood Hill Country House.  Riaan and Christelle are such a lovely couple.  They've dated since high school and compliment one another so well!  They were super awesome to photograph too.  I left their wedding knowing that indeed, I had the pleasure to meet and photograph amazing people, a timeless wedding and a beautiful day.

Riaan and Christelle, I wish you only the best as you walk this journey of love.  May only love, happiness, kindness and all things good come your way.  I wish you a lifetime of laughter, joy and moments worth treasuring.
